2026 Military Pay Calculator by Rank and Years of Service
Calculate monthly active-duty basic pay from pay grade and completed service, then combine BAH, BAS, TSP, LES deductions, allotments, and household expenses.

Start with grade and service
Monthly basic pay is selected from the 2026 active-duty table using the pay grade and completed years of service shown in official records. The same federal pay-grade row applies across the uniformed services even when Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard rank titles differ.
Special and incentive pays are not inferred. If a pay category is not represented by the calculator, use the other-pay field only after confirming the recurring monthly amount.
Handle BAH and BAS independently
BAH depends on duty location, grade, and dependent status. The duty ZIP lookup is separate from state of legal residence because those values serve different purposes.
Members in government quarters or otherwise not receiving an allowance can switch BAH or BAS off. Expenses remain available because a member can still have rent, food, or household obligations without receiving the matching allowance.
Replace estimates with LES values
The deductions tab estimates federal income tax, state income tax, Social Security, and Medicare. A blank override uses the estimate; an entered override uses the monthly LES amount.
Turning off income-tax withholding affects federal and state withholding only. Social Security and Medicare remain payroll taxes when applicable and should be reconciled against the LES.
Account for every cash outflow once
SGLI, AFRH, other deductions, TSP, and allotments reduce net cash before ordinary expenses. TSP is configured on its dedicated tab and is not duplicated on the deductions tab.
Housing, utilities, insurance, food, transportation, phone, subscriptions, and other recurring bills are then subtracted from net pay. Avoid entering the same allotment again as an expense unless it truly represents a second payment.
Review before exporting
Check the BAH location, dependent status, allowance switches, tax overrides, TSP percentage, allotments, and expenses before using the money overview. A zero result often means a required input is still blank, not that the member has no pay or expense.
The PDF is a one-page planning snapshot. It is suitable for discussion and comparison, but it is not an LES, tax return, entitlement decision, or official financial record.
